I think New Zealand has a lot of peaks that are more spectacular, in fact I'm sure there are many more that aren't represented here. PG

I find that hard to believe. I've spend my entire life admiring peaks of all shapes and sizes, and I can tell you that I find it difficult to accept that there could be any peaks anywhere that I would find more spectacular then these wonderful twins. But if you would like to assemble a series of photos of all of the other ones in NZ for me to review, then I'll be glad to give your hypothesis its due consideration. ;) But if you don't want to go to all that trouble, that's okay...I'm perfectly happy to limit my admiration to these visual treasures... :)

Well New Zealanders are known for their admiration of peaks after all it was a kiwi who summited the worlds highest mountain first. No doubt Kiwi men have been interested in summiting all nature of peaks since. PG

Ah yes...but Sir Edmund spend too much of his time scaling the wrong slopes. If I were him, I would have stayed in NZ and put all my efforts into mounting as many wonderful domestic peaks as I could. But I guess back in 1953, you were not around to attract his attention... ;)
